The itinerary starts from the historic centre of Pietralunga and initially heads towards the Candeleto Nature Oasis, where the route immediately enters a shaded environment surrounded by vegetation. The first sections alternate forest roads and trails, gradually introducing the technical nature of the route.
After this initial phase, the track becomes more dynamic, with single tracks and descents on natural surfaces leading towards one of the most evocative areas of the entire itinerary: the Carpina Valley.
Here the landscape changes completely. The route crosses an area rich in water and biodiversity, among small waterfalls, little cascades, wooden footbridges and the remains of ancient mills. It is a particularly immersive section, where nature takes centre stage and accompanies the ride in an environment that remains largely unspoilt.
From the valley, the route gradually climbs towards the area of Pieve de’ Saddi, one of the most historically significant places in the territory, with its religious complex set within the rural landscape.
The second part of the route unfolds along ridgelines and panoramic roads, where the effort gives way to wide views over the ridges of the Umbrian-Marche Apennines, with Mount Nerone, Mount Catria and Mount Cucco clearly visible on the clearest days.
The track continues through flowing sections and more technical descents, crossing rural landscapes and lesser-frequented areas, before leading back towards Pietralunga with a varied and complete finale.
An itinerary that combines technical riding, landscape and environmental variety, offering a complete and authentic MTB experience in the heart of Umbria’s most natural side.
