The Fattoria Didattica La Badia is located near the Tiber river a few kilometres from the centre of Marsciano. Located in the countryside between Todi and Perugia, at Ammeto, the Fattoria Didattica "La Badia" is in the context of the Azienda Agraria San Sigismondo belonging to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. The building that houses the farm dates back to the 1800s, and has been completely renovated according to the classic agricultural typology to offer a warm and familiar welcome to its guests. The Fattoria Didattica La Badia was born out of the need for direct communication between farmers and citizens large and small. It makes it possible to emphasise the importance and social role of agriculture and create interest in the environment and agricultural activity. It is a true environmental and food education centre available to schools, organised groups and families. On the farm, children can discover and touch many new things they have only seen in books, they can learn about different lifestyles through concrete and stimulating experiences, they can also play and have fun in a serene environment far from smog and city traffic, and finally discover the importance of tradition, ancient crafts and contact with nature through original and creative play and educational paths.
