Rediscover rural traditions, learn what country life teaches and get in touch with nature in all its expressions. Through the many proposed routes, you can indulge in genuine and often unique experiences(such as meetings with artisans and artists reserved for small groups of people). ABC rural is the perfect place for a holiday where you can relax by doing small things, listening to the silence, discovering smells and flavours that only the earth can give us, and being fascinated by timeless knowledge. And you can also cool off on the infinity pool overlooking the valley! Nancy and Michele are #becomingagriculturists (this is their motto), cultivating vegetables and planting ancient fruits, gathering wild herbs, searching for truffles, breeding animals at risk of extinction and producing their honey, jams, EVO oil, flour from ancient grains(ground on site)... and then enjoying them on the table with you!

There are so many interesting facts and things to know about bees that being fascinated by their world is really easy. Entering an apiary is like entering a temple of precision and social organisation. You will put on your protective suit and, under our expert guidance, take a close look at the busy and fascinating life of bees. We will show you how a hive is structured, the dance of the workers and the vital importance of these pollinators for the balance of our ecosystem. We will conclude the experience with a guided tasting of single-flower honeys, learning to distinguish the aromatic nuances that tell the story of the blooms in our fields. A profound educational journey, dedicated to those who want to understand the fragility and strength of nature.

Periodo: è possibile fare attività in apiario solo con le giuste condizioni del meteo. In generale dal mese di aprile e fino a ottobre è il momento migliore.

What is included

The beekeeper of ABC rural is Michele, who will introduce you to this activity with ancient roots by quickly explaining the theoretical bases, and then take you into the apiary. You can choose to wear protection and come into direct contact with the swarms, or observe the operations being carried out by staying a few metres away from the hives. Afterwards, you will return to the farm for a dive into the sensory analysis of honey, with a guided tasting of single-flower honeys.

Alternatively, you can simply treat yourself to an aperitif where honey will be the main protagonist.

The hives can be opened at the hottest times of the day, so apiary activities are usually from late morning to mid-afternoon.
