On 31 August 2025, with the patronage of the Municipality of Norcia, the official launch of the permanent brevet “Castelluccio degli Eroi” will take place.
The brevet regulations

On the occasion of the event, if you do not yet feel ready for the full brevet, you will be able to tackle the climbs on the side that leads from Norcia to Castelluccio.
The event is open to everyone and to all types of bicycles, including e-bikes.

Alternatively, if you have an e-bike, you can choose to be accompanied along a beautiful and brand-new gravel route that also leads from Norcia to Castelluccio.

The registration fee is €25 until 20 August, and €30 after that date and on Sunday, 31 August.
By registering for the event, participants will receive an event pack including local products for refreshments, some commemorative gadgets, and a personalized parchment certificate.

Starting in 2020, a permanent brevet called “Castelluccio degli Eroi” was introduced. To earn it, riders must complete the 143 km route with 3,800 m of elevation gain within 24 hours. The challenge consists of tackling the 9 climbs across the three sides: from Norcia, Visso and Arquata del Tronto. Everyone who completes the challenge will be included in the Castelluccio Heroes list.

For those who do not feel ready to complete the full route in one go, a Light Brevet has been created, divided into three separate challenges, one for each side. On Strava, segments have been created for each climb, so participants can independently check their times on every uphill time trial and compare them with friends.

The brevet is a self-supported, free-pace challenge, with no organisational support, and anyone taking part does so at their own risk, while respecting all Road Traffic Regulations. The brevet can be completed on any day of the year, but on 30 August 2026 it will be possible to participate with refreshment stops and the presence of the organisers.
